It is now overcast. Temperature has cooled a little—all of two degrees (86). It’s just sort of a watch and wait game.
Talked to a couple on the SE side of Houston, and invited them to come stay with us, but they are prone, I think, to riding it out where they are.
It’s a little eerie. There are some fires in Galveston. With the flooding, the fire trucks are having trouble getting to them. Smoke from one of the fires is trained on UTMB.
Here is a fascinating web site I have been following. The wind forecasts for my particular zip code have gone from 96 m.p.h. yesterday down to 79 m.p.h. today. That’s some good news for us at least. We’ll see how accurately that holds out. I wonder how well a kite would do in this weather . . .
